As you’re probably well aware, it’s been pretty hot in London of late, prompting the city’s most stylish to dress as though they’re heading to a four-to-the-floor rave, even if a couple of early evening drinks are all that’s on the cards. It makes sense: the doctrines of dressing for a rave and dressing for a heatwave are basically one and the same. What feels rather more conspicuous, though, is the seemingly overnight proliferation of wraparound sunglasses and polarised lenses – the sort you typically see on professional cyclists or sweaty dancers in European techno temples – now cropping up on the city’s streets. Perhaps the dancefloor isn’t dead after all…
