If the Vogue girls are looking a little worse for wear at today's shows, blame last night's instalment of cult karaoke party Anthems, where fashion and style editor Mahoro Seward and I delivered a booth-quaking rendition of "River Deep, Mountain High". Please seek out the footage if you work in A&R, and spare us the second-hand shame if you work in fashion. "Karaoke's very community-driven," as co-founder Fiona Hartley told us. "You immediately have to embarrass yourself or perform in front of people, which I think brings people together, no matter who they are."
Needless to say, this morning calls for a restorative pit stop at the Vogue CafĂ© at the Corner Shop on Arundel Street. Join us for turmeric-infused hydrogen juice – administered intravenously, if possible, in my case – from 10am to 5pm this weekend, and a Nike X Skims Pilates class on Sunday morning, if you're that way inclined. I'll be seeking out other ways to steady the nervous system. Namely: a day of mood-boosting shows from some of London's most directional independent designers. On the agenda? Karoline Vitto's return, an exhibition from A Letter and Chopova Lowena's mini-golf-themed presentation. I'm especially excited for Ronan Mckenzie's debut, which I spoke to her about last week. "It's important to be held by what we wear," she said, which is something I'll be clinging to while shielding myself behind sunglasses, and from the advances of a major (hopefully) record label.
