All my most whimsical style impulses are activated in the summertime, and on holiday those bohemian tendencies get dialled up further for romantic effect – think printed floral headscarves, ridiculously capacious beach bags and Peggy Guggenheim-worthy oversized sunnies. Speaking of Peggy, she was a regular at Il Pellicano, the idyllic Tuscan hotel where I was lucky enough to spend my weekend. It seems I narrowly missed the world’s hottest couple, Dua and Callum, who spent part of their epic Italian honeymoon there as well.
Meanwhile, London is in the grip of Bad Bunny mania following two incredible sold-out stadium performances. There have since been Benito sightings all over town, including one at Wimbledon, which – thanks to the likes of Serena Williams, Coco Gauff and Naomi Osaka – is poised to be the most stylish Grand Slam of the year. In fact, we got the scoop on Osaka’s spellbinding on court look…

When it comes to short beach getaways, I’m something of a packing pro – over the years, I’ve accumulated an embarrassing amount of pretty little slip skirts, beach wraps and dresses that are, thankfully, light as air (well, almost). I’m a big fan of Hunza G swimwear – I have yet to find a swimsuit that sucks and tucks me in the way their bikinis do. That said, Il Pellicano has the most exquisite hotel boutique, so it was impossible to resist the urge to shop. Marie-Louise Scio, Il Pellicano’s creative director and CEO, curates it all personally – you need only look at the gorgeous photos of her family dating back to the 1970s, when her father took on ownership of the hotel, to see that this is a woman who has style in her bones. She’s also a fabulous host: she makes everyone feel at home, chatting to guests as she floats along the terrace in one of her many fabulous sundresses. It’s like those famous Slim Aarons photos have been brought to life. I always leave enough room in my suitcase for books, and I took a couple of memoirs on this trip: Arundhati Roy’s sublime Mother Mary Comes to Me, which was totally transportive, and Lena Dunham’s Famesick.

Oh Benito, how you have charmed us all! The Puerto Rican superstar took over Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this past weekend to perform to a sold-out crowd of fans in those signature straw “pava” hats. I was relieved to make it off the plane in time to catch his set on Sunday night – an absolute treat! More than just a concert, the whole thing felt like a huge dance party. As has become tradition at his gigs, all eyes were on “La Casita”: Novak Djokovic and Maya Jama made an appearance on Saturday night, while Salma Hayek and Joe Jonas graced his porch with their presence on Sunday. My Spanish is, sadly, almost non-existent, though I think it was universally understood when Bad Bunny gave a moving tribute to the people of Venezuela following last week’s devastating earthquake.

There’s something awe-inspiring about the way Naomi Osaka has used fashion on the court in ways that are playful but also deeply personal. So I was thrilled when the tennis star agreed to talk exclusively to British Vogue about what she had planned for her first outing at Wimbledon. “I like to use fashion as a medium for storytelling,” she says of her elaborate entrances. “Every walk-out is an opportunity to bring people into my creative world. The fact that people care about it and are excited to see what’s next is also pretty cool.” Designed by Tokyo-based designer Hana Yagi and embroidered with cranes and cherry blossoms, her custom look was a beautiful nod to Japanese ceremonial dress. I cannot wait to see what she has in store for the rest of the tournament.
