First off, a warm (frankly sweltering!) welcome to my first Nnadi by Nature newsletter. So thrilled you could join me! Consider this your regular dispatch from behind the scenes at British Vogue, with some highlights from my own week thrown in for good measure. All anybody in the office seems to be talking about right now is... what on earth to wear in this wretched heatwave? After 20 years of living in New York I’m pretty seasoned in that department, and have amassed an endless collection of lightweight summer layers (exhibit A, the Dries Van Noten floral number you can see me in below) that are finally coming in handy here in the UK. So I haven’t had too much trouble dressing for the big events this week, namely the annual Serpentine garden party and the launch of Coco Gauff’s collection for Miu Miu and New Balance. Wimbledon is just around the corner…

I managed to steal a brief moment with Coco, who was surrounded by adoring fans at the launch party for her new collaboration with Miu Miu and New Balance on Tuesday night. As for what she’ll be wearing at Wimbledon, she’s currently deciding between four looks from the collection – all of which I can confirm are pretty major. I’m eager to see which fit she rolls out first.

The Serpentine Garden Party
|
The Serpentine Summer Party is the big crescendo on the summer art gala calendar and always star-studded. Sienna Miller was there looking absolutely stunning with a fur-trimmed Conner Ives jacket casually thrown over her slip dress – big respect to her commitment to the look despite the heat! I also ran into Alexa Chung as she arrived with Dilara Findikoglu, dressed in one of the designer’s exquisitely constructed summer suits. And speaking of designers, the divine Supriya Lele, pictured here, was her own best model dressed in shimmering cobalt blue.

A must-see exhibit right now in London? Project Black Planet, which opened at the Barbican earlier this month. The show is a vibrant celebration of Pan African art that has been on tour since it first opened at the Chicago Art Institute late last year. There’s really so much to see here – over 300 works spanning the last century! – so allow yourself at least an afternoon to get the full experience. Hands down my favourite room was the one dedicated to new works created by my dear friend Lynette Yiadom-Boakye. I could literally spend hours and hours just contemplating her awe-inspiring paintings.
