Last week I went to Copenhagen to see Cecilie Bahnsen's collaboration with Uniqlo up close, and it was every bit as whimsical as I’d hoped. The Danish designer told me of her desire to put her own spin on the retailer’s recognisable blueprint, an approach that’s resulted in shirred separates, floaty dresses and billowing T-shirts that nod to her cult mainline collections, made from a soft jersey.
