Following the success of last year's series, which focused on inspirational masterclasses from the likes of Celeste, Alexa Chung and other creative leaders, 2022 sees Vogue Visionaries evolve into revealing and engaging conversations between industry leaders, who share their experiences and strategies on how to transform passions into stellar careers. Nikkie De Jager – better known by her YouTube moniker NikkieTutorials – and Val Garland are two of the world's best known and loved make-up artists. With an unrivalled wealth of knowledge and expertise between them, they're kickstarting the new series of Vogue Visionaries with personal stories and practical tips on how they broke into the beauty industry.
 For Nikkie, YouTube has been paramount in transforming her creativity into a flourishing career. Nikkie established a growing community of people who looked to her for beauty content from a young age, and has since amassed a following of almost 14 million on her YouTube channel, collaborated with the likes of Adele, and launched her own beauty line, Nimya. Val's route to turning a childhood obsession with hair and makeup into a successful job, saw her working on pop promos. Often that would mean doing the hair and make-up for "25 people" on no budget, but "I never said no." She has built a tight-knit group of fellow creatives to work alongside in London and throughout her career has worked with the world's top fashion designers and image makers.
